Fourth of July activities in the City of Pella will take place on the holiday this year. The format of festivities remains similar to previous celebrations, according to Event Coordinator Paul Kingma. The festivities on Friday, July 4th in Pella include swimming at the Pella Aquatic Center, food stands in Central Park, performances at the Tulip Toren, fishing at Caldwell Park, and a display of local first responders. The Pella Farmers Market is moving its weekly event to match the festivities on the 4th, which falls on a Friday this summer, and Pella Historical Museums and Pella Preservation Trust will once again partner for city wagon tours in the afternoon. The annual parade returns in a reverse Tulip Time route, starting at East 2nd and Franklin Street near Scholte Church. The Pella City Band will perform following the parade before fireworks begin at 10 p.m. near Central College.
