More people are staying in cabins at Jasper County Parks and using campsites at the county’s campgrounds according to Jasper County Conservation Director Keri Van Zante. She credits the increase to joining an online platform for all of Iowa’s 99 county conservation boards.
“Since we have gone on the MyCountyParks platforms, we have people coming from all over to rent cabins and camp now. So it’s a whole different thing we are dealing with now. Lot’s of rentals.”
MyCountyParks.com and MyCountyParks.org provides a centralized location for information and reservations for camping, lodging, and events at county parks and recreation areas throughout Iowa.
The Jasper County Conservation Department has two cabins available for rent, and campsites at Ashton Wildwood Park, Bison Ridge, and Mariposa County Park. For more information about these facilities and availability, contact the Jasper County Conservation Department or use the MyCountyParks platforms.
