A game that took the better part of three days to complete, went the way of the Panthers for just the second time this season as the Knoxville Softball Squad won 7-2 on Friday in a game that was started on Wednesday afternoon and completed, due to rain on Friday night. Knoxville jumped out to a 6-2 lead on Wednesday highlighted by Marlea Cox and her two run shot to centerfield to help Knoxville gain its advantage. The game resumed Friday in the top of the 3rd inning with Ralei Danner on first base and was brought home on a Hannah Dunkin double and pitcher Mia Durham and the defense did the rest holding Cardinal to no runs through the final six innings. Meanwhile, in Chariton the baseball Panthers made up a double header splitting with the Chargers falling in game one 8-7 and winning the nightcap 7-1. A back-and-forth early game resulted in four errors by the Panthers that the Chargers took advantage of despite Knoxville out hitting Chariton 10-6. The Panthers dominated the Chargers in game two largely off the bat of Grant DeMoss going 3/4 and driving two runs in, Luke Roozeboom also drove in two runs playing the designated hitter role. Roston McCarty went the distance, scattering five hits and striking out five with the Panthers playing error-free ball. Both Knoxvilles are off until Monday.
