New Indianola City Manager Jake Meshke is over a month into his new role after beginning in late May, with the first month being focused on learning more about city staff, community members, and local government. Meshke tells KNIA News while key decisions have been made over this first month, obviously a big priority was just to hear what residents had to say.
“Having all of those initial meetings with our staff, having initial meetings with our council members, and then moving into recurring meetings with those folks as we continue to engage and I continue to integrate myself into the community. I’ve now taken that concentric ring approach starting with the staff and council who are closest to me, now I’ve started to work my out a little bit where I’m now having the conversations with some of our key community partners. Having those initial meetings as I kind of introduce myself more to the community, and start looking at the community more holistically.”
