The Norwalk summer sports teams both return to competition today.

The Class 4A third-ranked Warrior softball team plays at 4A second-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes, finishing a pivotal game that was suspended last Thursday. The contest will resume at Noon with Norwalk leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning. The Warriors can force a tie for first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference standings with a victory. They are currently 26-3 overall and 15-2 in conference play. DC-G is 26-3 and 14-1, respectively.

Norwalk Softball has received a win by forfeit over Pella Christian in a game that was rained out on June 18.

The Norwalk baseball team plays a non-conference game at Ankeny Centennial tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Warriors bring an 11-12 overall record into the contest. The Class 4A ninth-ranked Jaguars are 18-9.

Postseason Pairings:

Both Norwalk teams also learned their postseason brackets last week.

The Warrior baseball team has been assigned to Class 4A, Substate 2 and will play a first round game at Southeast Polk on Friday, July 11. The remainder of the bracket includes top-seeded Waukee Northwest, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, Ames and Des Moines Lincoln.

The Norwalk softball team has been assigned to Class 4A, Region 3 as the top seed and will receive a first round bye. The Warriors will host Fort Madison or Keokuk in a regional semifinal on Saturday, July 12. Region 3 also includes Winterset, Oskaloosa and Mount Pleasant.
