A soon-to-be 9th grader at Pella High School is back from the Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.

Kyler Lyons performed in New York City last week with the Honors Junior String Orchestra. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers from across the world. Kyler auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and was accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board.

Lyons joined performers from around the world for a special performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall, and learned from world-renowned conductors and work with other performers. Lyons is grateful for the community support that made the trip possible.

“It meant a lot, because I’ve never gotten so much support from around the community and I just want to thank everyone that gave money, because it was just amazing to see people that I didn’t even know and step up and raise money for me. Some people just came to the benefit and heard me play a couple of pieces, and I was just so honored,” he said.

Hear more from Kyler on an upcoming Let’s Talk Pella program.
