It was a pair of losses for the Dutch summer teams on Monday, as the #2 in 3A baseball team dropped a 4-3 game to Mount Vernon and the Dutch girls fell to #2 in 4A Dallas Center-Grimes 8-0.

On the road, the Pella softball team ended their conference season at 9-8 overall and snapped a seven-game winning streak, although the deck was stacked against them, picking up a suspended contest down 8-0 in the 4th inning. The Dutch girls hit the road to #7 in 4A North Polk this evening.

At home, the Pella baseball team never held a lead after falling behind 2-0 in the top of the 1st. The Dutch bats only mustered six total baserunners with five hits and a hit-by-pitch. Pella struck out nine Mustang batters, but gave up eight hits and two walks in the effort. Isaiah Kettler was 1-for-3 with two runs batted in and Anderson Schirm earned a triple at the plate. Pella falls to 19-6 overall and returns to action tonight at Grinnell.
