hr-celebration

It was a pitcher’s duel on one side of Panther Drive and Home Run Derby on the other side of Panther Drive as Knoxville doubled up Clarke with the baseball Panthers taking a 2-1 victory and softball using the long ball to send the Indians on their way 13-7. For softball, it was easily the Panthers best offensive output of the season as Knoxville banged out 16 hits with Hannah Dunkin and Macy Cox clubbing home runs, Cox’s a grand slam in a six run 6th inning to put the game out of reach. Siena Scott was also strong at the plate going 3/4 and five driven in. Mia Durham got the win on just three hits in five innings and striking out four. Over on the baseball side of Panther Drive, Lincoln Norris allowed just four hits in six innings and striking out seven while Jessen Ferguson got the save on one inning of work. The winning run came across in the 6th inning when Luke Roozeboom singled, scoring a run. Briar Kingery had the other RBI. Both Knoxvilles are headed to Jasper County to play PCM. Softball will travel to Monroe while baseball will head to Prairie City. The baseball game can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA at 6:45.
