The Marion County Public Health Department is reminding local families of a back to school vaccination checklist.

School is roughly seven weeks away for Marion County students and there are several vaccines that are required in the state of Iowa. For children 4-6 there are five required vaccines, children 11-12 have two required vaccines, and students 16-18 have one required vaccine. The flu vaccine is also recommended but not required for all ages and the HPV vaccine is recommended for students ages 11-12 while the Meningococcal vaccine is recommended for those 16-18. A full list of required vaccines can be found below. If you have a question about vaccine requirements and recommendations you can contact Marion County Public Health or the school.
