
The Knoxville baseball Squad took control early and never let PCM in the game as the Panthers downed the Mustangs on Tuesday night 10-0 in a game that ended after five innings due to the run rule heard live on 95.3 KNIA. Briar Kingery for the 2nd straight game had a good night at the plate, got the scoring underway singling driving in two runs in the 1st inning. Two more runs came across in the 3rd, then the big blow came in the 4th a six run 4th as Knoxville batted around highlighted by a Lincoln Norris solo shot to left field. Kingery led the Knoxville attack with three RBI while Roston McCarty went all five innings allowing four hits, one walk and three strikeouts. Coach Tuner Devore told KNIA/KRLS Sports overall it was a good night for his team.
Devore: “Kind of all over the place, we had good at bats, Briar got going, Lincoln had a home run, and Brenden got back into form, so a pretty decent job tonight.”
Izaac Bagby, Shay Burns, Jaden Houser and Alex Wendt all collected one hit for the Mustangs. Konner Bell took the loss surrendering nine runs on six hits and six walks while striking out two. Knoxville is now 20-10 and will be off until Monday when the Panthers travel to Bondurant-Farrar for the regular season finale, PCM is 7-13 and will host Green County tonight.
