The City of Pella is celebrating Independence Day today. Paul Kingma with the Pella 4th of July Committee invites the community to a wide range of activities, which starts with City Tours hosted by Pella Historical Museums and the Pella Preservation Trust and swimming at the Pella Aquatic Center. Food Stands open near Central Park at 2 p.m., with Meet the First Responders beginning shortly after that nearby. Entertainment will be hosted on the Tulip Toren, and fishing at Caldwell Park starts at 3 p.m., along with Bounce Houses in Central Park. The Pella Farmers Market runs from 4 to 7 p.m. today. The annual 4th of July parade will start near Scholte Church and go along the reverse Tulip Time route, which can also be viewed on Pella Fiber TV. The City Band Performs on the Tulip Toren at 8 p.m. before fireworks launch from Central College at 10 p.m. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is participating in area 4th of July celebrations.
