
Knoxville Independence Day activities will take place today. The morning will start with the annual Freedom 5K at 8:00 am, which is hosted by the Knoxville Cancer Relay for the first time. At 10:30 this morning, there will be a bike parade that starts at Knoxville High School and finishes at Young’s Park. The bike parade is open to all ages and will include popsicles for everyone, and prizes for the best decorated bike. In the evening, there will be fireworks at dusk that will start at approximately 9:30 pm, launched from the Knoxville Municipal Airport. The city reminds viewers that parking will not be permitted on Highways 5 ,14, and 92. Spectators may use parking lots such as Wal-Mart, Weiler, Farm and Home and other available business parking lots around the airport.
