A proposed convenience store at the intersection of Jasper County Highway T-33 and South 128th Avenue East, south of Sully, has prompted the Jasper County Board of Supervisors to seek a Traffic Impact Study. The proposed Fast Stop Gas Station is connected to an expansion of Co-Line Manufacturing operations. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch approached Clappsaddle-Garber Associates Incorporated about doing the study, which will cost $10,000.
“This will enable us to understand what projects we have to program for that highway. Do we have to add a middle turn lane, or a right turn lane? How do we need to configure that intersection or the entrance to whatever they are doing at the northeast corner of County Line Road and Highway T-33.”
Frietsch says this is a heavily traveled road, and the Traffic Impact Study will help determine what needs to be done to keep it running safely and at full capacity, as future development occurs in that area.
