The Knoxville Baseball Squad is off until Monday when the Panthers close out the regular season at Bondurant-Farrar. Early in the season hitting was a struggle and several reasons could be put on it. Knoxville has now become one of the better hitting teams in the area which has propelled the Panthers to a 20-10 record, going 19-5 since a 1-5 start. Coach Turner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports a lot of things had to change or improve for his team to turn around its hitting.

Devore: “Kids have bought in and we’ve tried to change some things. Peyton Major has been coming to more varsity games, and Cam and River have been throwing batting practice. The kids have really improved and it’s been fun to watch.”

The Panthers will play Bondurant-Farrar Monday and then start the class 3A substate at Des Moines Christian on Thursday.
