A Knoxville man has been charged with felony burglary, theft and reckless use of fire.
According to court records, on June 1st, a report was made of a burglary and theft that had occurred at a home on East Marion St. in Knoxville, where numerous items were stolen, and at the time of the initial report, no suspects could be identified. On June 26th, most of the stolen items were retrieved at Curtis Kane’s place of residence at a trailer at the VanDonsler campground on North Lincoln St in Knoxville. On July 1st, a Knoxville police officer attempted to interview Kane at the Marion County Jail, where he is being held on another charge.
Kane declined to speak with the officer and provided no statements or details regarding the case. Due to the totality of the circumstances, Kane is charged with burglary in the third degree, theft in the fourth degree, and reckless use of fire. At the time of the initial incident, it was observed that a paper towel was lying on the garage floor and appeared it had been attempted to be lit on fire, due to the towel showing burnt residue and used matches lying next to it.
Kane was recently charged with first degree burglary for an incident on June 5th, where he allegedly broke into a home and stole guns and household items while a victim was sleeping.
