warn-2

An overnight line of thunderstorms prompted a severe thunderstorm warning and brought more rainfall over already saturated ground in south central Iowa. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air for a warning impacting most of Warren County from 12:40 to 1:15 this morning, which included three staff members and a Weatherology meteorologist update. No severe damage reports were issued locally by the National Weather Service, however, a wind gust of up to 45 MPH was recorded in Norwalk. Many areas that have recently received heavy rainfall took in more precipitation, with overnight radar estimates indicating at least an inch more of moisture fell in portions of Marion and Warren Counties. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air with live coverage for severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings in Marion, Warren, and Jasper Counties.
