The Knoxville baseball Squad will start its road to state with a road game today at Des Moines Christian. The Panthers drew the 5th seed and will take on four seed Lions out of the West Central Conference. Knoxville has been on a heater since the second week of the season. After a 1-5 start, the Panthers have gone 20-5 and have won eight of their last ten games including the last six in a row. Coach Turner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports one key is the pitching and how efficient Roston McCarty has been to allow the freedom to use extra arms leading into the substate…

Devore: “A lot of that is the efficiency of Roston, and you’ll take that. Cam and Sam have a good job with our pitching and there’s a lot of arms coming.”

The Lions finished in a tie for 2nd place in the West Central Conference and have a 20-7 record. Game time has been pushed up three hours due to the threat of rain this evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00, tune into the pregame at 5:45 on 95.3 KNIA.
