The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Grand View Christian at home Saturday night in a Class 2A Substate 6 semifinals matchup.

The #2 ranked Trojans defeated the Thunder 9-3 to punch their ticket to a substate final. Brayden Kennedy got the win on the mound pitching 6 ⅓ innings giving up no earned runs and had ten strikeouts. Offensively JJ Phillips was 2-3 with two home runs and three RBI and Braylon Bingham, Easton Cox, and Noah Rist all had two hits a piece. 

Pleasantville will now take on Anamosa Tuesday night in Grinnell in a substate finals matchup with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
