Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Knoxville will hold a Quilt-A-Palooza on Thursday, August 7th.

This first-of-its-kind event will be held to coincide with the Knoxville Nationals and will take place from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Good Shepherd has a quilting group that meets every Monday, where quilts are made to be sent overseas through Lutheran World Relief. This is an event with a goal of trying to make as many quilts as possible in the four hour window. Attendees don’t need to have any sewing experience, all materials will be provided, all ages are welcome, and refreshments will be served. Susan Mayer with the Good Shepherd quilting group says this is a fun opportunity for people to get experience in seeing what it takes to make a quilt.

“It will be fun. We will have activities for all ages and all skills. There will be eight or nine different stations where people can do a little piece of quilt making to get a feeling of what it takes to put one together. We’ve divided it up into steps and I think it will be fun.”

The church is located at 1506 S Attica Road. Hear more about this event on an upcoming two part Let’s Talk Knoxville.
