A non-profit organization in Pella is bringing back programs to support families with students heading back-to-school this August. Crossroads of Pella is accepting donations of school supplies and looking for families in need of help with those this coming academic year, according to Jim Hibma and Chris Allen. Donations can be made based on lists provided by the Pella Community School District for each grade level. Additionally, the leaders of Crossroads of Pella both say they are bringing back an Adopt-a-Student program, in which donors can help students with purchases related to shoes and clothing ahead of the first day of class. The non-profit organization still has its “Wednesdays Unplugged” program for students from 1-3 p.m. at Caldwell Park this summer, and the group is also seeking additional high school volunteers.
