A portion of Panther Drive in Knoxville has started a closure this week for concrete work.

The work is to replace eight concrete panels on the road. This is part of the summer concrete work that was approved at a school board meeting in Mid-June. The work is being done by Fine Line Concrete and the total cost for all the concrete work is just over $30,000. School Business Manager Craig Mobley says you will still be able to access the Stepping Stones, baseball, and gravel parking lots; you just won’t be able to drive all the way through Panther Drive.

“There will be a section from basically the maintenance drive to the east most drive of the gravel parking lot will be closed at least through the end of this week. Some of that depends on the weather we will get this week. You can still get into the gravel parking lot, you can still get into Stepping Stones, you can still get into the baseball parking lot, you just can’t drive all the way through Panther Drive.”

The project is expected to be completed next week.
