InRoads Paving in Des Moines has been awarded a half mile pavement reclamation project northwest of Valeria. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch says InRoads’ $460,325 bid is for North 51st Avenue West by the Hilltop Estates Subdivision to just short of the Jasper/Polk County line. 

“This asphalt that’s out there is in poor condition. It’s a soft mix of asphalt, so as soon as they start driving concrete trucks on it, it will become a mess in a real fast hurry. We found as we got into it, driveways and crossroad culvert pipes that need to be fixed or replaced. There’s a lot of things with this stretch of road that need to be addressed.”

The project has a mid-August start date, with completion expected within 30 working days.
