fair-theme

Today is the first day of the 2025 Jasper County Fair in Colfax. It’s the fair’s 170th Anniversary, and it’s being held under the theme “Critters, Candles, Cake – Let’s Celebrate 170 years of the Jasper County Fair.” The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be at the fair during its run through Thursday, July 24th, and there will be live reports from the fairgrounds on 92.1 KRLS. Stacey Wilson is the County Youth Coordinator for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Jasper County. She believes local interest remains high in 4-H and FFA, as well as agriculture in general,

“I feel like it’s still going strong here in Jasper County. And I would just invite everyone to check out the Jasper County Fair, and see for yourself our amazing 4-H and FFA kids.”

After today’s 8:30 a.m. opening ceremonies in Colfax, there will be the 4-H/FFA Horse show, Clothing Judging, the 4-H and FFA Dog and Cat shows, and a 6 p.m. Cornhole tournament. Open Class entries will be accepted on the fairgrounds between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. this evening.  A complete schedule for this year’s Jasper County Fair can be found here.
