The Knoxville School Board approved the purchase of two vehicles at their meeting Monday night.
The board approved quotes from DeYarman Automotive for a 2025 Chevy Traverse and a 2025 Chevy Suburban. The total cost of the vehicles is just over $98,000 and the purchase follows the normal district transportation department vehicle replacement timeline. School Business Manager Craig Mobley said it just came time for vehicles to be replaced.
“We have a vehicle replacement plan and we had a couple of vehicles where it was just time to get those replaced so we are purchasing 2025 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse from DeYaraman Automotive of Knoxville so thanks to them for submitting a quote and we will look to have those vehicles here soon.”
These vehicles will be paid for out of the district’s PPEL/SAVE funds and this purchase is included in the district’s five year plan.
