This week marks the beginning of one of the most busy two weeks in Indianola for the year, with multiple events taking place across the city. The Warren County Fair begins Wednesday, July 23rd, the National Balloon Classic begins Friday, July 25th, and the Indianola Summer Art Festival and Celebrate Warren County Parade take place on Saturday, July 26th. Indianola Police Chief Brian Sher tells KNIA News there will be a significant influx of traffic on both Highway 65/69 and Highway 92, so he recommends all commuters take extra time to reach their destination, take extra caution for stopping or slowed vehicles and pedestrians, and obey all traffic laws.

In addition to the National Balloon Classic running through all of next week, the Hinterland Music Festival runs August 1st-August 3rd in Warren County.
