The City of Newton is seeking bids on an estimated $300,000 sewer main and manhole lining project. City Utilities Department staff says video camera images indicate that over 7,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer main and about 200 vertical feet of manhole lining is needed. The lining repairs for the sanitary sewer pipes is done without having to excavate and repave streets. The project will be paid for with Water Pollution Control enterprise funds, and is to be completed by June 15th of next year. Bids for the work will be opened at 11 a.m. August 21st in the Newton Utilities Department Office on the 5th floor of Legacy Plaza Building 18, at 303 West 4th Street North.
