The City of Knoxville has completed the painting of the checkered crosswalk ahead of the Knoxville Nationals.

The checkered crosswalk across Highway 14 in front of the race track is a tradition in Knoxville to get people in the racing spirit ahead of the busiest time of year. This is a project that is re-painted every year ahead of Nationals by the Knoxville Street crew. The 360 Knoxville Nationals will start this Thursday, the Capitani Classic will take place Sunday, and the 410 Knoxville Nationals will start next Wednesday.
