The annual Peoples Bank Farewell to Summer and Cardboard Boat Races celebration is August 17th at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Indianola. Kathy Kester with the City of Indianola tells KNIA News the pool closes for the summer that day, and there will be free admission during open swim followed by the Cardboard Boat Races at 4pm.
Kester said participants can make a boat from cardboard and duct tape only, then race against others to see who will rule the pool. Find more information below.
