The greatest four nights of sprint car racing have arrived as the 64th Running of the Nos Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Caseys starts with two nights of preliminary racing as all of the entries will time trial, run in heats, and be slotted into a C, B, or A-Main. A perfect night is 500 points meaning a driver needs to be quick time win their heat, and win the A-Main. One driver that had had a great week so far after finishing 9th in the 360 Nationals winning the Capitani Classic and placing 3rd at Monday’s Front Row Challenge is James McFadden. The Australian driver runs a car based in California and he tells KNIA/KRLS Sports how special it would be to win this week.
McFadden: “Definitely the atmosphere, the fans, it’s great to be a part of. As an Australian, making the A-Mains and being a part of this event is special and winning it would be even more special.”
If McFadden wins on Saturday, he would be the 1st Australian to win the Knoxville Nationals and the 1st driver to win the Nationals and Australia’s Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic in the same year. Live coverage is on KNIA with Live Track Side at 5:00 and Race Nights Live at 7:00.
