Claiming the number three spot for PCM top sports stories of the 2024-2025 school year is Kaden Clark and Tucker Wheeler both competing on championship Saturday of the state wrestling tournament.

Tucker Wheeler at 157 pounds and Kaden Clark at 285 pounds both made it to their respective championship matches at the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament held in Des Moines in February. Wheeler and Clark became the first duo to make it to Saturday night’s championship match in the same season for the Mustangs. Both wrestlers fell in their title matches falling just short of a state title. Clark was a senior and has graduated, but Wheeler being a junior has a chance next season to make it back to the championship match. After winning his match the Friday night of the state tournament, Wheeler was thrilled he got to compete alongside Clark on championship Saturday.

“It’s honestly amazing, it’s fun to have a teammate there competing with you. It’s amazing.”

In total the Mustangs sent five wrestlers to the state tournament in Wheeler, Clark, Kaliber Fry, Zach Richards, and Bentlee Sloan.
