
Several resolutions were approved by the Pella City Council related to ongoing and upcoming projects at their meeting Tuesday evening.
Mayor Don DeWaard first opened the meeting with recognition for the various state champions from Pella and Pella Christian schools in sports and fine arts from the 2024-25 academic year.
Among those approved included:
– Change order for the Pella Soccer Complex improvements project
– Contract for a Hazel Street sidewalk connection to new Timberview Development
– Engineering services agreement for Oskaloosa Street Reconstruction Project
– Engineering services agreement for Community Center Alley Reconstruction Project
– Change order and accepting public improvements for the Kiwanis Park Phase Three (Wonder Spelen)
– Setting public hearing for proposed Fox Ridge Urban Renewal Plan
– Setting public hearing for development agreement with Dingeman Concrete Construction
– Change order for Pella Indoor Recreation Center project
– Acceptance of land interest changes related to expanding University Street east
– Advancement of costs for Urban Renewal Project
– Declaration of intent to issue debt to reimburse for certain expenditures
– Setting public hearing for hangar lease with Pella Corporation
During policy and planning following regular business, the Pella City Council discussed future change orders at the Pella Indoor Rec Center, the future of a proposed Pella Dog Park, and proposed changes to the Volunteer Firefighter Retirement Plan. No formal action was taken.
