It seems like just a few weeks ago the Knoxville Girls tennis Squad was wrapping up another season. With the sport now shifting to the fall, a short offseason welcomes back an experienced team for Coach Nick DeMoss. Gone are Janie Maasdam and Marlea Cox to graduation as both qualified for the state doubles tournament this past spring. However, left is a solid core that DeMoss hopes will keep the Panthers competitive this fall.

DeMoss: “Bridgette was a singles champion in the conference and Iselynn and Jordy were finalists in doubles, and a few points here and there maybe Addy would have been higher. We hope to be competitive in the conference, it’ll be interesting to see what everyone else brings back.”

Conference Singles Champion Bridgette Liston returns as she played #1 in the Panthers season opening win last week over Nevada. Also back this fall are Iselynn Prevo, Jordyn Counts and Addy Dunkin returns from solid seasons last spring. While not new to the program, but playing varsity for the first time are Brylee Woolsey and Ayla Williams. The Panthers are set to host a home invitational on Tuesday.
