The City of Swan will hold a special election on September 9th to decide whether or not they will remain their own community.

In April, the Swan City Council voted to dissolve, and in return a petition was presented to end the discontinuance procedures, which will now move to an open vote on the matter. The town of approximately 75 people continues to drop in population, and now voters will consider the question regarding to discontinue as an unincorporated community. There will also be a “To Fill Vacancy” position on the ballot due to a previously appointed council member.

The first day that voters can absentee vote for this election is August 20th and the polls will be open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm on September 9th. For complete information on the Swan Special Election, follow this link
