The Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual New Teacher Appreciation Luncheon tomorrow. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Community Heights Alliance Church. Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kaylea Marchant says they are expecting 23 teachers new to the Newton School District to attend. According to Marchant, the luncheon is a way to inform teachers who may be new to the area about what services, amenities, and resources are available. 

“Who they can go to, whether it’s to have their eyes checked or have their dentist appointment or where to get their old changed. The school district is a huge supporter of ours, so to be able to give back to not only the new teachers but the ones who have been there so long too, is fun for us.”

Marchant adds that after the event, many of the new teachers often express their appreciation for the luncheon and the information.
