A Pleasantville man was injured when he was hit by a vehicle in his driveway off of Gear Street on Monday evening.

The Iowa State Patrol reports a Buick Enclave operated by 76 year old Janet Fontana of Fairfield was pulling into a driveway at approximately 9:50 p.m. and while traversing a curve, struck 79 year old Thomas Adreon.

The report details Adreon as “laying in the driveway” at the time of the incident. Fontana backed the vehicle “off of” Adreon and called 911. He was transported with “serious” injuries. Adreon is listed in Marion County housing records as owning the property at 270 Gear Street, which is listed as the location of the incident by the Iowa State Patrol.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasantville Police Department, Pleasantville Emergency Services, and the Iowa DNR assisted at the scene.
