A partnership between Pella High School and 92.1 KRLS will once again bring award winning play-by-play to video streams hosted by the Dutch athletic department.

Those tuning into the Pella Dutch Live YouTube streams for all football and basketball home games will hear the full radio broadcast produced by KRLS Radio, which has been the home and away voice of Dutch athletics for over three decades. This video/audio mix also includes select summer sports home broadcasts as well, as it did this past summer for the State Champion softball and baseball teams.

The partnerships were initially strengthened by necessity after the COVID-19 pandemic restricted crowds during the 2020-21 school year. Select Pella High School activities have had 92.1 KRLS Radio broadcasts since the 2016-17 academic year.

Pella Activities Director Matt Fouch is excited to continue the partnership that creates an enhanced experience for those who can’t make it to home events and want to have video added to the audio they’ve enjoyed for more than 30 years.

“Your partnerships on those streams is what makes us have the best live stream in the state in my opinion, just because you have a great visual on the screen and we also have the best play-by-play and the best announcers in the state on there as well, and that combination is second to none.”

The agreement between the Pella Community School District and KNIA/KRLS Radio extends into the district’s regular external marketing plan and includes extensive daily news and sports coverage and frequent appearances on interview programs such as Let’s Talk Pella and Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page.

For all road football games and varsity basketball doubleheaders, 92.1 KRLS and the KRLS2 stream will be the places to find play-by-play coverage of Dutch athletic events, which are both available on the free KNIA/KRLS mobile app.
