
The Newton girls tennis team fell to 0-1 overall and the Little Hawkeye Conference on Thursday, falling to Norwalk 11-0 in their first dual meet of the season. The Cardinals Morgan Frehse and Brooklyn Sterling both won a set at #1 and #2 singles, , but fell in the super-tiebreaker third set. Newton’s #4 doubles team of Camryn Andrew and Makenzie Clark also won a set in their match before losing the third set 0-1. Newton lost the eight other matches, two sets to zero.
The next competition for the Newton Girls tennis team is a dual meet Tuesday in Indianola.
