Six total runners are out this fall for Melcher-Dallas Cross Country. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports two girls and four boys make up the program this season. She adds with everyone, they are farther along in training than they were last season when several of the runners were 1st year participants.
Stuart: “We can start a little farther along. Last year we were walk-jogging and now this year we’re actually running and now it’s just getting up to that 3 mile range and getting everyone to a faster start.”
The girls this year are Alice Lamb and Amber Addington, who are returning all-Bluegrass Conference runners. On the boys side Austin Remster returns as does Dane Sorensen and new runners in Trace Mann and Tristan Steele. The Saints get their first meet at Albia on August 28th.
