With the 2025-2026 school year just over a week from getting underway, more than 75% of the student body at Pella Christian will be participating in an extracurricular activity this fall. Head of Schools Dan Zylstra says that he believes that a big reason for great participation in different activities is leaders and coaches that are living out their mission statement, “Empowering God’s Children to Join in His Restorative Work”.

“Our Activities Director Dan Branderhorst does a wonderful job supporting our coaches and our other leaders of those extra activities. And the families as well, they’re engaged, they’re invested, and because of that, their kids want to participate and they have a sense of belonging, and it shows in the numbers. It really is a wonderful thing. At Pella Christian we try to educate the whole child, we’re more than just an academic school, but we want the full orb of every student to be developed for God’s glory.”
