
The Norwalk girls tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season with Friday’s triangular sweep of North Polk and Ballard, winning 10-1 against both opponents. The Warriors prevailed by convincing scores of 8-1, 8-2 or 8-3 in 14 of 20 match victories.
Going 2-0 in singles play for Norwalk were Kierdyn Stockwell, Leah Black, Elena Harder and Brooke McKinney. Myla Brown and Jacey Crane both won their only singles match of the day while Logan Geisler went 1-1 in the No. 1 spot.
The No. 1 doubles team of Geisler and Stockwell won a pair of 8-3 decisions. McKinney teamed with Lily Laine for wins of 8-6 and 8-6. Norwalk’s toughest matches came in doubles play vs. Ballard as the teams of Black and Crane and Teyla Dvorak and Savannah Wright both finished with 9-7 victories.
