Parents and guardians of students attending Newton Middle School this year are encouraged to attend their student’s Back to School Night this week. Dotty Dotson is heading into his second school year as principal at Berg Middle School. He says parent involvement is key to helping a child have a successful education, and attending Back to School Night is a good first step.

“We had a lot of that last year. We had good parent involvement, but we want more. We will have community partners in the gym. I think we have between 11 and 13 community partners coming in that provide resources for families that need certain things. We will have them in the south gym.”

Dotson says the staff at Berg Middle School are looking forward to a great school year. Back to School Night for 5th graders is tomorrow evening, while 6th through 8th graders’ Back to School Night is Wednesday.
