The Norwalk boys golf season begins today as the Warriors compete in the Ankeny Centennial Jesse Peck Invitational. The eight-team tournament is being held at the Briarwood Club of Ankeny, starting at 12:00 p.m. The field includes Little Hawkeye Conference rivals Indianola and Dallas Center-Grimes.

Norwalk returns four golfers with varsity experience from a successful 2024 season. The Warriors set an 18-hole school record with a 286 at Beaver Creek and placed first in the Joe August Invite. This year’s senior co-captains are Lane Juergens and Ian Lux, joined by junior letter winners Tillman Papcun and Dayton Poen.

Girls Tennis meet postponed

The Norwalk girls tennis team’s dual meet against Pella, originally scheduled for today, has been moved to September 3 at 2:00 p.m.
