The Indianola boys golf team took home a first place finish at the Jesse Peck Invitational in Ankeny in their season opener Monday, while the girls tennis team split a non-conference triangular.

The golfers shot a 294 as a team, led by Jackson Buchanan who won meet medalist honors with a 1st place finish of 69, and Hayden Stockberger placed 2nd with a 70. The boys next golf on August 27th at the Johnston Invitational.

The Indians girls tennis team dominated Des Moines Lincoln 9-2, with Emily Allen, Chloe Chaplin, Kendall Hibbs, and Gianna Nelms all winning in singles action, while the doubles pairings of Allen/Chaplin, Ashley Schultz/Ryen Blosser, MacKenzie McBroom/Peyton Rinard, Kate Halgren/Alana Moser, and Hibbs/Macie Crosson all winning.

The Indians also fell to Urbandale 10-1, with the pairing of Hibbs and Halgren earning the only win. Indianola next competes today hosting Newton in a Little Hawkeye Conference matchup.
