
The Pella City Council held multiple public hearings on the agenda at their regular meeting Tuesday evening. These included approval of a contract for HVAC improvements at the Pella Public Library with Excel Mechanical for $243,500, a hanger and apron expansion at the Pella Municipal Airport with Cushman Excavation for just over $200,000, and a rezoning application for a property near the intersection of Brook Circle and Idaho Drive (first reading).
Several resolutions were also approved, including:
– Amendment to a farm lease agreement with Dan Terpstra
– Final Plat for Vintage Estates
– Preliminary Plat for RAVE Subdivision at Bos Landen
– Certificate from Engineer and Finding of Necessity to Institute Emergency Proceedings for Emergency Repair of a Public Improvement (related to rec center switch with University Street expansion)
– Change order No. 2 with Stahl Construction for Pella Indoor Recreation Center
– Project Administration Policy for Rec Center Project
– Resignation of current City Attorney Emily Duffy, appointment of replacement Kristine Stone with Ahlers and Cooney
A discussion at policy and planning included a proposed leadership restructuring of the Pella Community Services department. A closed session was also held for matters presently in litigation, or where it is imminent. Find the full council meeting presentation here.
