A different schedule will greet the Knoxville Football Squad this season and one that has the Panthers feeling confident they can make some noise this year. Gone are Atlantic, Creston and Harlan that have been on the schedule for the last four seasons. In their places are Saydel, Des Moines Christian, and Winterset plus Williamsburg and Nevada, who is the only holdover from last season. Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the district and the non-district games give his team a chance to be competitive but still get challenged.
Dunkin: “We’re definitely excited about not having as much travel time this year, and going out there for the last 4 or 6 years. But we’re staggering our season and hoping to improve each week.”
The four non-district games are Fairfield, Albia, Mount Pleasant and starting off next week with Centerville. Hear all Knoxville Football games live on 95.3 KNIA.
