Newton’s Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Building is 100 years old this year, and this year marks the last time the district will use the building to teach elementary students. Woodrow Wilson Principal Todd Schuster says his staff will use this year to recognize the building’s importance to the district.

“We do not have specific things planned right now, but we will be celebrating Woodrow Wilson in general throughout the year with the kids, parents, and maybe some former kids and teachers. We’ll plan some fun stuff.

Newton’s 2025-2026 school year will begin Monday with just under 300 kids at Woodrow Wilson Elementary according to Schuster. He adds the main part of the building that’s 100 years old has held up well.  Hear more about the start of the school year at Woodrow Wilson Elementary from Schuster on today’s Let’s Talk Newton.
