The Norwalk girls tennis team split a pair of dual decisions on Friday, losing to Urbandale 10-1 and defeating Fort Dodge by the same score at the Walker Johnston Tennis Courts in Urbandale. The Warriors are now 6-1 on the season.

Leah Black earned the team’s lone victory against Urbandale in the number 3 singles position, winning 8-4. Elena Harder had the closest defeat in singles play, losing 8-6.

The Warriors returned to their winning ways against the Dodgers, taking all but one match. Singles winners were Kierdyn Stockwell, Black, Harder, Brooke McKinney and Jacey Crane. Black won her match 8-0 while Stockwell and Crane both won 8-1. Norwalk swept the doubles column behind the teams of Logan Geisler and Stockwell, Black and Harder, Myla Brown and Crane, McKinney and Lily Laine, and Savannah Wright and Emily Badger. The number 5 and 6 teams both prevailed 8-0.

Norwalk returns to Little Hawkeye Conference play on Monday, hosting Dallas Center-Grimes at 4:15.
