While all 4th through 12th grade students are gearing up for a return to class on Monday, parents of elementary students will have a series of meetings with teachers before beginning the new academic year.

Madison Elementary Principal Sarah Boyce says K-3 children and their families at both Madison and Lincoln will be meeting their teachers one-on-one before beginning school on Wednesday.

Boyce says the Pella School Board approved the new conferences as a way to better establish the dynamic between school staff and parents and to give kids a bit more time to acclimate to the big change of school starting or returning.
