Chase Wagaman will step in as the new starting quarterback for the PCM football team this season.

For the last two seasons Wagaman has backed up former starting quarterback Gavin Van Gorp who was a three year starter for the Mustangs and helped lead PCM to an undefeated regular season last year and a trip to the state semifinals. Wagaman will now look to lead a team filled with young talent after several key contributors from last season on offense and defense have graduated including star running back Adrien Robbins. Wagaman is a multi-sport athlete for PCM and he tells KNIA/KRLS that he is ready to perform in the best way possible for his team.

“I still have very high expectations for myself. I know what I can do and I expect myself to do it each and every day and come here and perform the best for my team and put us in the best situation to win and get the job done.”

Wagaman and the Mustangs scrimmaged Pella on Friday and will open up their regular season on Friday at home against Sigourney-Keota.
