Three champions were crowned on Season Championship Night at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, but only one could score a win as Austin McCarl capped off his third straight 410 title and 4th overall by winning the A-Main going flag-to-flag in getting his 1st win at Knoxville in a 410 this season. McCarl started on the front row and was never challenged in the 25 lap event, even when the race was slowed for caution he made quick work of the field. McCarl told KNIA/KRLS Sports he did not want to leave this season behind without getting one in the win column.

McCarl: “I didn’t want to get up at the banquet and have a goose egg at Prairie Meadows in November. It was pretty fun in clean air, I tried doing my best Brian Brown and Ryan Timms impersonations, but we’ll take it and it’s a great way to end the season at Knoxville.”

After having a frustrating season, Kade Higday broke through the won the 360 race. After racing Tony Rost for the first few laps Higday led the final 17 circuits to get his first career 360 win. In the Pro Sprints, Luke Lane led all 18 laps to win his first career race at the Knoxville Raceway. Tasker Phillips was officially crowned the 360 champion and J Kinder was recognized as the Pro Sprints Champion. That concludes the sprint car portion of the season at the Knoxville Raceway. The track will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals September 18th-20th.
